Since everyone has their own perspectives, what do you think? Is Scarlett trying to escape her reality with her imaginations or that there was always someone there looking out for her? Enjoy the short film directed by me. Much thanks to my castings! 

Summary:

A girl named Scarlett, who finally found her desired job as an interior designer is having a tough time dealing with people in her new job environment. But ever since she met the mysterious someone, her life changed. She has no idea who 's that someone but the relevance of disobedience and choice is important for her to decide how her life is going to be.

Better understanding:

This film come with an open-ended ending which should leave the viewers in confusion and not understanding. As Scarlett met the mysterious one, her life has changed to a better one. She felt in love with the Boss who had an affair with both her and the mistress. Whenever she had hardships about her ideas, the mysterious one would be around her, giving her hints and help although she doesn't know ' him' well. Firstly, she bumped into that 'someone' who had exchanged the sketches at the time which satisfied by the Boss, then when the boss rejected her work, that 'someone' came back out by letting her have the magical pen. As when she found out that the Boss is actually having an affair with the mistress, that 'someone' came let her have the pills to kill the mistress so the Boss will be only hers. The relevance of disobedience and choice is important for her to decide how she want things to end, as she decided to kill herself by taking the pill given than blaming it on others. That 'someone' came out and gave her the second piece which shows that by having 2 pills at the time, you'll recover but with only 1 pill, you shall suffer. She woke up.

PROGRESSION DEVELOPMENT

Did some sketches as progression developments to my final model. There are some arrangements of some parts, and adding connections like ramps or stairs. The measurements are all noted down as remembrance when building the final model with the scale of 1:50.

This is my final model for my project 3. The aim of the concept to design a pavilion. My model looks more suitable as a maze due to the interior inside, showroom gallery or an exhibition. The design is broken down into metaphorical and physical aspect. I named it " The GRE.D " which represents the combination of grey and red textures as it gives out a neutral yet sophisticated feeling. The characteristics will consist emphasizes of solid wall and see through plans. In short the design concept focuses on space and harmony.

PROJECT 3 - MOODBOARD

Conceptual board or mood board is made to find the style or type of building you wan tot make it as your final model. It acts an inspiration to give you more ideas for your model. I included colours and textures to find an idea for my final model, what feelings, style am I going for.

TEXTURES + COLOURS

TEXTURE

The texture is creating a dim and dull look. There's power seen in it. The space will look small and narrow with darker colours.

The texture is warm in colour. It gives out an elegant feeling like a ballroom dress.

The texture is bright and calm and it creates a spacious space if it is in an interior. It gives out a feeling of a wedding dress for its white.

The texture is giving out a natural neutral feeling and it makes people feel calm and relaxing as it is close to nature.

COLOUR

Yellow is associated with joy, happiness, intellect and energy. It produces a warming, luminous effect, arouses cheerfulness, stimulates mental activity. It represents the youth, fun, joy, sunshine and other happy feelings.

Red is the colour of fire and blood, associated with energy, war, danger, strength, determination, as well as passion, desire and love. It enhances human metabolism and also increases respiration rate.

Green, the colour of life, renewal nature and energy is associated with meanings of growth, harmony and freshness. It is a relaxing colour that pleased the eye and is said to have healing powers.

Beige is dependable, conservative and flexible. It is natural, calm and relaxing. It has warmth of brown and coolness of white and like brown. It sometimes seen as dull.

HARMONY + LIGHT (2)

Studied the shade and shadows of the structure. For example, when the light shines from the top right,the shadow falls onto the the left side of the building structure. The smaller the structure, the shorter the shadow. When the light passes through the short parts, it stops on the long parts because the long parts blocked the light and it created a dark and strong shadow. The position, size, darkness of the shadow depends on the position of the light.

SHADE AND SHADOW

The human scale played a important role around structures. For example, when a 5cm human figure stands near the building structure, it looks like a human checking out a big building model. The structure looks like a sculpture. It can be a venue, such as a resting place or a park. Different scale of human figure gives out different kind of feelings.

PROJECT 2 - HARMONY + LIGHT

A geometrical shape is chosen for the harmony and light exercise to practice the harmony with different sizes of a same shape. We were told to build standing model using these variety of shapes as as an idea for the final model on how to make connections or rearrangement of other parts.

UNITY + VARIETY

When the same shape but variety of sizes are used, it creates unity and variety. The stacking it up make me realizes that the variety of shapes can create a united structure with different performances.

RHYTHM + REPETITION

We studied rhythm and repetition by combining points, lines, and planes. Suitable colours and shapes are chosen for this exercise. Rhythm is found when using the suitable colours and repetition is found when repeatedly using the same shapes but different size.

ANCIENT ARCHITECTURE - FORM + SCALE

5cm, 15cm and 25cm human figure is made to study the form and scale of the architecture. When the 5cm human model (smallest) is standing in front of the building structure, it seems like a realistic building and people walking in and out visiting. It does not seems like an object neither an sculpture. When the 25cm human model (biggest) stands near the architecture, the architecture looks like a display in an exhibition for people to look at. The structure can be seen as an object, decoration or furniture. Different scale of human gives out different kind of feelings.

ANCIENT ARCHITECTURE - SHADE + SHADOW

The ancient architecture, Parthenon Athens is a well-known building structure. To study the shade and shadows, we made this architecture using cardboards into solid shapes. We took pictures from different angles and positions to understand more about the shades and shadows produced. The length, the darkness, the positions of the shadows is noted down.
