ASSIGNMENT 2.2(A) - TRANSFORMATION (BASE EXPLORATIONS)

Inspired by the furniture of your previous project, we were now to design a lightning masterpiece that would compliment the design. Started with the BASE DESIGN of the basic form that apply and translate the keywords and formal organization I chose. The keywords i chose is MINIMALIST, BOLD and GEOMETRICAL as the furniture masterpiece is cube and minimalist but with its bold look, it dominates the environment. I chose GRID as my formal organization to stay minimal like a cube in a cube for my next step.

ASSIGNMENT 2.1(B) - INSPIRATION

A quick sketch of 3 different views of the furniture masterpiece were needed to show the proportion with human figure, to identify the formal organization of the furniture and also include keywords for the furniture.


ASSIGNMENT 2.1(A) - INSPIRATION

Each group were given a furniture masterpiece as a subject inspiration.The furniture we chose is the Bauhaus Weimar, F-51 Armchair designed by Walter Gropius, a famous German architecture. In group, we did research about on the given furniture masterpiece and summarize our findings in a sketch note format and do a quick presentation about it. The research included the designer history, inspiration, design significant with materials and ergonomics.


PRESENTATION 
Based on our study, a scale model of the furniture masterpiece with scale (1:10) were made to showcase the understanding of scale and proportion.

ASSIGNMENT 1B - ANTHROPOMETRIC & EROGONOMICS

We were to choose 3 activities out of the 12 activities, take pictures of you doing it, measure the space and furniture and document your findings. We were to draw out the plan and side elevations with complete dimensions and also illustrating human figure with proper scale and proportion. Alternative poses were noted to understand more between the interactions of objects in same activity but different poses. 








ASSIGNMENT 1A - ANTHROPOMETRIC & EROGONOMICS

By illustrating my daily activities, taking notes on the surrounding environment and interactions with the objects around you, we learnt that the personal space is the region surrounding a person which they regard as psychologically theirs. We were to understand human scale, proportion and space surrounding and to relate anthropometrics to design ergonomics in personal space. Interaction between the objects during the daily activities with different poses were noted.
