What i learnt about contextual studies is that it is based on a constructivist theory of teaching and learning. Learning takes place when teachers are able to present information in a way that students are able to construct meaning based on experiences. Contextual learning experiences include internship, service learning and study abroad programs.involved in multiple context
Characteristics of contextual learning:
- emphasize in problem solving
- recognize the teaching and learning involved in multiple context
- assist students in how to monitor their learning and become self-regulated learners
- anchor teaching in the diverse life context of students
- encourage students to learn form each other
- employ authentic assessment
